The Heaven-Swallowing Sparrow was shocked and furious. Who had ambushed it?
It was vicious by nature and notorious far and wide, so naturally it had many enemies. But it had disposed of most of them in its early years.
Its few remaining rivals were even less likely to possess such means. Otherwise, they would have stormed its doorstep long ago. Why resort to an ambush like this?
Over all these years, it had suffered only one setback in that stretch of the Great Wilderness, also at the hands of someone who had appeared out of nowhere to ambush it. That person had not felt particularly powerful, yet could injure the primordial spirit. The methods had been utterly bizarre.
Not to mention the old undying bastard who had appeared afterward. That one had nearly scared its soul out of its body. It had hidden deep in the Great Wilderness for several years before daring to emerge.
Its emergence this time was also an attempt to find out whether its damned master was truly dead.
All of this happened in an instant. Without thinking further, the Heaven-Swallowing Sparrow instinctively recalled its severed wing.
Upon reaching the venerable realm, one could easily reattach severed body parts and had no fear of being cut apart.
Yet something happened that filled it with shock and horror.
Undying sword aura wreathed the severed surface of its wing. The moment it recalled the wing and fitted it back into place, the sword aura erupted again, sending blood from the wound splashing across the sky.
"Damn you, who are you?" the Heaven-Swallowing Sparrow roared in fury. Unable to reattach its wing, its fighting strength would be greatly diminished.
