A piercing cry rang out from the clouds. The Green-Scaled Eagle had been watching the people of Stone Village all along. A true descendant of a primordial remnant, she carried the bloodline of a Primordial Demonic Bird and often fed on giant elephants. She swooped toward them, stirring up a gale.
Stone Village had raised her chicks well, and over the past year, she had gotten along quite well with its people.
Above all, she could sense how extraordinary the willow Sacrificial Spirit was. She was willing to let her three chicks follow Little One, Shi Hao, and cultivate beside it.
After the shock to his heart and Xiao Tian's guidance, Shi Hao jumped up, waved hard, and shouted, "Auntie Green-Scaled Eagle, please take me up there! You're the overlord of the forest's outer reaches, and I can help you too. Let's fight for Suanni's precious body together!"
"Grandpa Chief, you should all go back. I understand now. It's too dangerous for you to stay here with all this fighting. Even with the strength of our entire village, we couldn't compete with these Savage Beasts. I'll work with my big brother and Auntie Green-Scaled Eagle and see whether we get a chance to act."
Shi Hao turned to Shi Yunfeng again, his little face filled with earnestness.
"All right. We'll head back."
Shi Yunfeng understood too. He had watched those three Human Race factions perish in mere moments. If that wastrel Xiao Tian had not intervened, at least two of their villagers would surely have died.
The villagers all fell silent. It was simply the truth. They were ordinary people who were somewhat stronger than most. Even if every able-bodied adult joined the fight, they would only spill their blood in the forest and die for nothing.
"Go ahead. I'll look after Shi Hao. He's my little brother now."
Xiao Tian spoke up too, patting his chest in assurance.
Although he looked no bigger than a thumb, nobody dared question his words. When Xiao Tian had struck down those two Biao Beasts earlier, many of them had not even had time to react.
"Then sorry for the trouble, young brother."
Shi Yunfeng had ventured out to gain experience in his youth, and he immediately offered a polite reply.
Xiao Tian did not look very old either. Although Shi Yunfeng did not understand his reasons for approaching Shi Hao, he seemed to harbor no ill intentions so far.
After all, he had arrived stark naked. They had, in a sense, already met with nothing to hide.
"Auntie Green-Scaled Eagle, I'm ready! Hurry down, we're running out of time!"
Shi Hao jumped onto a boulder at the edge of the peak, waving his little hands and shouting.
"I'm coming too! Don't forget me!"
Xiao Tian joined in the excitement.
The Green-Scaled Eagle cast a sidelong glance with her blue-green eyes. She knew Little One, Shi Hao: shameless, pure, and free of malice. But what on earth was this tiny bug she had almost overlooked?
In the end, her trust in Shi Hao won out, and she chose to descend. The wind howled as the Green-Scaled Eagle swooped lower, spreading her wings. With a wingspan of sixteen meters, she blotted out the light like a dark cloud collapsing from the sky, casting a shadow that made hearts tremble.
The Green-Scaled Eagle had no feathers. Blue-green scales covered her entire body, gleaming coldly as though polished from bronze and refined gold. Cold and weighty, they oppressed the mind. Thick, long, razor-sharp bone spikes grew from her head like a row of horns, while blue-green divine radiance flowed brilliantly through her eyes. She truly deserved her place as an overlord among the giant birds of the outer reaches, carrying the bloodline of a primordial Fierce Beast remnant.
The next moment, Shi Hao shot five or six meters into the air with a whoosh. As nimble as a monkey, he landed easily on the Green-Scaled Eagle's back, made his way to her head, and grabbed a bone spike as a handhold.
The Green-Scaled Eagle made a graceful turn to ease her momentum, then skimmed past the peak and flew into the distance. Her movements were swift and elegant. Shi Hao hurriedly tightened his grip as his body was involuntarily lifted into the air. Xiao Tian quickly jumped onto Shi Hao's head, sheltering among his hair and clutching it tightly for fear of being blown away. The wind thundered, lashing their faces painfully and making it almost impossible to open their eyes. As a mount, the Green-Scaled Eagle deserved a bad review.
"Big Brother, what are you doing jumping onto my head and pulling my hair?"
Shi Hao gripped the hornlike bone spike on the Green-Scaled Eagle's head with both little hands, squinting his large eyes as he looked down into the distance.
"The higher you stand, the farther you see. I'm also protecting your vital spot."
Xiao Tian said it without blushing or missing a beat.
"Oh. Then make sure you protect it properly."
Shi Hao spoke very earnestly.
Xiao Tian felt a little embarrassed. Little One, Shi Hao, was simply too pure, without a trace of guile. He could not help promising sincerely, "All right. I definitely will."
On the ground, the Savage Beasts of this ancient wilderness forest had all gathered and were slaughtering one another in an exceptionally bloody battle. Creatures that flew through the sky, ran across the land, and swam through the water were all there. Beast roars, bird cries, and the rumbling calls of giant golden crocodiles resounded through the forest. Blood stained the ground red. Torn iron wings, giant pythons ripped apart, and enormous beast carcasses lying in pools of blood were trampled into bloody pulp. Bloodshed filled the place!
Nothing was left intact. Even many boulders and towering trees had shattered, leaving utter devastation.
The ferocious birds and giant beasts still standing were all outstanding creatures of the Blood Moving Realm. But Xiao Tian knew that Fierce Birds and giant beasts of the Spirit Transformation Realm were also watching. They were cleverer, unwilling to act first and waste their strength. They were all waiting for the other creatures to make the first move.
Before the towering Shi Shan, a small portion of which had collapsed, blood already flowed in rivers. Savage fighting raged over every inch of ground. Densely packed and scattered like stars across a chessboard, the terrifying creatures filled what looked like a scroll depicting the primeval wilderness. They battled madly, slaughtering one another until they had nearly lost all reason.
Scalding beast blood splashed in every direction, sometimes spraying more than ten meters. Some unusual Savage Beasts were also fishing in troubled waters, digging through the boulders in search of Suanni's corpse, hoping to seize the first bite.
From his vantage point above, Xiao Tian could clearly see the Fierce Birds and Savage Beasts below. He was a little man whose physical body had reached the ultimate limit of the Blood Moving Realm, and his eyesight far exceeded that of ordinary people.
Every Fierce Beast and giant bird fighting now possessed some measure of a primordial Fierce Beast remnant's bloodline. For instance, there was a striped mountain cat with horns on its head. Four meters long, it was much larger than an ordinary tiger and incredibly powerful. It darted about like yellow lightning, dismembering Savage Beasts wherever it passed, ripping open their hides and rupturing their organs on the spot.
Xiao Tian felt certain that it carried a trace of the Fierce Beast Huan's bloodline.
The Classic of Mountains and Seas recorded: "Its form resembles a wildcat, with one eye and three tails. Its cry seems to overpower a hundred voices. It can ward off evil, and consuming it cures jaundice."
He had played a game based on the Classic of Mountains and Seas in his previous life, so he knew this monster.
There was also an enormous Kui Beast carrying the bloodline of the Fierce Beast Kui Ox. Its roar boomed like thunder, and its massive body resembled a moving hill. Its shoulders alone stood twenty meters high. With one furious roar, its invisible sound waves seemed to take physical form, attacking everything indiscriminately. A vast swath of Fierce Birds and Fierce Beasts immediately bled from all seven orifices and passed out. It rumbled onward, its gigantic feet splattering bloody pulp with every step.
Yet the fastest of them was a silver pangolin. Its eight-meter-long body traveled underground, leaving a continuous ridge of earth along its path. Half its body had already burrowed into the collapsed mountainside, and it was on the verge of succeeding.
The Green-Scaled Eagle grew anxious. She plunged down like a streak of blue-green lightning, her claws capable of piercing anything. They drove straight through the pangolin's tail and hauled it out of the ground.
A massive spiral horn, shaped like a pointed cone, grew from the silver pangolin's head. It gleamed with a dark, cold light and could pierce anything. With an enraged bellow, the pangolin turned to bite the Green-Scaled Eagle.
But the very next moment, the Green-Scaled Eagle shot skyward. The tremendous momentum made the silver pangolin's attack miss, and in an instant, she had climbed more than three thousand meters into the sky.
