Deep within the Myriad Dao Star River in the northern Mystic Domain of the Immortal Domain lay an ancient life-bearing star named Abyssal Depths.
This ancient star barely merited a mention on the map of the Immortal Domain. It was neither a sacred cultivation ground rich in spiritual energy nor a great training ground that produced one powerhouse after another.
Nor had it ever given birth to any terrifying, peerless genius. Yet it was precisely this utterly unassuming ordinariness that had led Qin Feng to settle here.
Qin Feng had lived on this star for ten thousand years, always cultivating discreetly. He had never even revealed his cultivation as an Extreme Dao Supreme.
Qin Feng deeply disliked drawing attention. He had maintained this habit for well over a hundred thousand years, so long that even he could no longer remember when it had begun.
Perhaps it had been his first day after transmigrating into this world, perhaps when he had just set foot on the path of cultivation and still knew next to nothing, or perhaps the day he first witnessed the terrifying might of an Immortal King.
In short, standing high meant being seen; being seen meant being remembered; being remembered meant inviting trouble. That was why he preferred to be the most inconspicuous person around, ideally someone so invisible that nobody noticed him.
Qin Feng's greatest goal was simply to stay alive-to live until the Desolate Heaven Emperor subdued the four emperors of darkness and killed the Corpse Immortal Emperor.
To live until the day the Three Great Emperors swept away the Weird Clan!
Looking over this relatively modest star, with the laws of the immortal Dao constantly emanating from heaven and earth and its abundant longevity substance, Qin Feng could feel an endless stream of immortal substance nourishing his body.
In the blink of an eye, he had already spent well over a hundred thousand years in the Immortal Domain. Some news that had arrived recently, however, had left him slightly uneasy.
Perhaps the worst was about to happen. This would be the greatest crisis he had faced since transmigrating!
Abyssal Depths Star had three cultivation families with ancient legacies: the Zhou, the Lu, and the Murong. All three of their ancestors were cultivators in the Escape One Realm.
They were renowned figures on this star, but outside it, they amounted to nothing-just three weaklings.
This ancient life-bearing star had always been peaceful, but today, that peace was shattered.
That day, the sky over the entire star seemed to tear apart. A glittering golden avenue suddenly descended above it, and a figure stepped out.
He was a cultivator who looked like a middle-aged man, clad in golden armor and surrounded by a terrifying aura that made hearts tremble. Every step he took through the void sent visible ripples spreading through space, as though this world could not withstand his pressure.
At that moment, every living being on Abyssal Depths Star felt that pressure-the aura of a Supreme of the mortal Dao!
Zhou Yuanchang, the Zhou ancestor, had been meditating in a secluded chamber. His eyes snapped open, and his expression changed drastically. "A Supreme!"
Lu Hongyuan, the Lu ancestor, sprang to his feet and looked toward the golden light in the sky, his pupils contracting. "A Supreme from the Immortal Domain? What has he come to Abyssal Depths Star for?"
Murong Xue, the Murong ancestor, had been instructing the younger members of her family. The instant she sensed that aura, surprise filled her face as well.
How was this possible? A star in a remote corner like theirs did not even have any decent resources. Why would it attract a Supreme?
Why would such an important figure come here?
The three Escape One Realm ancestors rose into the air almost simultaneously and flew toward the place where the golden light had descended, not daring to delay for even a moment.
The golden light had descended over the mountains in the northern outskirts of Abyssal Depths City-the very place where Qin Feng lived.
The golden-armored Supreme hovered in midair. With a sweep of his right hand, a decree wreathed in immortal light unfurled in his palm.
His voice thundered across the entire star. "By decree of the Heavenly Phoenix Immortal King-administrator of Abyssal Depths Star, come forth and receive the decree!"
His voice rolled and surged, reverberating between heaven and earth. As his Supreme-level pressure spread, every cultivator on the star fell to their knees, trembling.
The heads of the Zhou, Lu, and Murong families arrived one after another. They landed on a distant mountaintop and bowed respectfully to the golden-armored Supreme.
Zhou Yuanchang, the head of the Zhou family, stepped forward and asked cautiously, "Honored envoy, this junior is Zhou Yuanchang of the Zhou family. May I ask what decree the Heavenly Phoenix Immortal King has for us?"
An Immortal King had actually issued a decree to a star tucked away in a forgotten corner like theirs. In what lifetime had they cultivated the good fortune to deserve this?
The golden-armored Supreme glanced at the three of them and snorted. "I have come by order of the Heavenly Phoenix Immortal King to conscript Supreme Realm cultivators. Where are the Supremes of Abyssal Depths Star? Why have they not come out to welcome me?"
As an Immortal King's envoy, wherever he went, the cultivators there had to come forward respectfully and kneel before him. Even True Immortals had to treat him with courtesy.
Why, now that he had come here, had this star's administrator sent only three old fossils in the Escape One Realm to welcome him?
Zhou Yuanchang froze, then turned to look at Lu Hongyuan and Murong Xue. The three exchanged bewildered looks.
Lu Hongyuan steeled himself and said, "Honored envoy, this junior dares to ask... could this decree have been delivered to the wrong place? There are no Supreme cultivators on Abyssal Depths Star!"
The golden-armored Supreme's brows furrowed slightly, and he spoke with clear displeasure. "No Supremes? Nonsense. Are you saying the Heavenly Phoenix Immortal King made a mistake?"
"No one in the Supreme Realm has appeared here for several hundred thousand years."
"That is right, exalted immortal. Our three families have been rooted on Abyssal Depths Star for hundreds of thousands of years. If there were any Supremes here, how could we not know?"
The golden-armored divine general was somewhat puzzled as well. How could there be no Supremes? Before I set out, the Immortal King specifically told me there were two Supreme-level cultivators here.
All I needed to do was have the two of them draw lots and select one to come along. Of course, if either volunteered, there would be no need to draw lots.
Watching this from afar, Qin Feng sighed helplessly. He had never expected that even after hiding in this impoverished backwater, he could still be found.
Fortunately, he had made some preparations in advance. Whether he could get through this ordeal now would depend on his methods.
At some point, a middle-aged man in a red robe had appeared beside Qin Feng and nodded to him.
"Fellow Daoist, please do not make things difficult for them. The two of us have been living here in seclusion and never told them about our cultivation. These three do not know who we are." Qin Feng stepped out, accompanied by a man wearing a red robe.
The two released their pressure together-the pressure of Extreme Dao Supremes. Their strength surpassed that of the golden-armored Supreme by far more than a single level.
Sensing that pressure, the golden-armored divine general flashed over to the two of them, raised the scroll in his hand, and spoke:
"Fellow Daoists, you truly kept yourselves well hidden!"
Two Extreme Dao Supremes! Living in a place so desolate that even birds would not shit here.
