After Mega Evolution, Slowbro no longer needed to stand on two feet, supporting itself with its tail alone. Apart from its head, hands, and a small portion of its tail, Slowpoke's entire body was tucked inside Shellder's shell. Spikes lined the shell's opening, with two holes on either side; protective spikes covered the third segment. It could use its shell to launch powerful attacks.
Slowbro from the Galar Region had slightly different coloring from ordinary Slowbro. Parts of its head and ears were purple, as were its hands, while its arms remained pink. The tip of its tail was purple too. The spiral shell that normally clung to its tail was now on Slowbro's left hand, and the shell's tip, its first segment, had retracted into the second segment.
When Slowpoke went hunting for food in the sea, a Shellder bit its tail, turning it into Slowbro. The sweetness seeping from Slowpoke's tail captivated Shellder. Clinging tightly, Shellder craved the delicious flavor oozing from the tail and refused to let go. To suck out more and more sweetness, the greedy Shellder transformed its shell into a spiral. Shellder attached to the tail were said to survive on Slowpoke's leftover food. It was also said that if the Shellder biting its tail fell off during an intense battle, or if its tail was severed and Shellder came loose, Slowbro would turn back into Slowpoke. Slowbro lived leisurely by the sea, spending most of its time spacing out. It would stare blankly at the ocean, growing increasingly vacant as Shellder's poison circulated through its body.
