The phantoms left in the Fragmentum had more than just physical forms; their voices remained as well.
As the group passed the phantoms, they could hear some of Bronya and Cocolia's earlier conversations.
It was as though... these two phantoms were actually living people.
Bronya: "...You still haven't told me what this place is, Mother."
Cocolia: "Seven hundred years ago, this was Belobog's northern border, and the ancient battlefield where Alisa Rand led the first Silvermane Guards against the Antimatter Legion. As for now... it is merely an abandoned corridor, filled with echoes of the old world.
"But do not be deceived by this fragmented facade, Bronya. When the day comes for the promise to be fulfilled... these ruins will become the cradle of a new world."
Bronya: "...Mother, do you truly believe the Stellaron's promises? It summoned the blizzards outside our walls, opened the gates to the Fragmentum, and destroyed our civilization-"
Cocolia: "-And the mistake our ancestors made was failing to embrace destruction sooner."
Bronya: "..."
Cocolia: "From the moment the invaders from beyond the heavens arrived, this world had already been sentenced to death. But the Stellaron... it preserved a sliver of hope for us.
"Rebirth comes at a price. Erasing every rotten trace of the old world, abandoning our meaningless struggle to prolong our existence... that is the price the Stellaron demands.
"Once its promise is fulfilled, Bronya... we will no longer have to spend our entire lives protecting a wasteland. You and I will witness a new world rise from the ruins."
The group continued onward, while Dan Heng thought over and analyzed their current situation.
Bronya had most likely left that crystal ball of her own accord to point them in the right direction. Together with the Fragmentum phantoms, knowing the correct route forward
