"Really? Himeko wasn't with you... Then let's go look for her again." Jiang Yu raised his hand and patted the Shell of Faded Rage beneath him. "Hop on."
March 7th naturally wouldn't turn down Jiang Yu's invitation, and soon climbed onto the Purple Tyrannosaurus's back.
"Where do you think we should start looking for Himeko?" Jiang Yu asked.
March 7th gave the question some thought, then said, "Himeko's so dependable. Surely she wouldn't be chased all over the place like me. Maybe we should head somewhere closer to the lobby."
Jiang Yu nodded. He thought so too, and expressed his approval of March 7th's clear self-awareness.
Finally, the child patted the head of the Shell of Faded Rage beneath him. "Let's go up."
The Shell of Faded Rage naturally didn't resist. It crouched slightly, its powerful legs supporting its weight, then leaped into the air.
Just as when it had charged toward the lobby, the Shell of Faded Rage smashed through this floor's ceiling and the floor above with a crash, leaping straight up to a higher story.
But...
What awaited Jiang Yu and March 7th was an entirely different scene.
What appeared before them wasn't the hotel corridor they had expected, but pitch darkness and a little thin mist, along with a mass of twitching, distorted lines of light and shadow and a cacophony of chaotic, warped sounds.
March 7th felt as though something had burrowed into her head, causing an extremely sharp, stabbing pain. At the same time, her ears could no longer hear any sounds from outside; only a continuous buzzing echoed in them.
In the very next instant, March 7th lost control of her body and her perception of the outside world. Her thoughts came to an abrupt halt, as though something had suddenly snipped them
