Well-meaning, but not quite welcome

After the Young Wizards watched the "Lockhart" in the projection effortlessly toy with the terrifying, hideous Acromantulas, the looks they had given him as though he were a demon changed once again.

Their eyes brimmed with the longing to learn.

After all, this way of hunting was best suited to ordinary people. Not everyone could unleash one explosive spell after another as though magical energy cost nothing.

Lockhart smiled calmly and waved his hand, enlarging the image of an Acromantula so the Young Wizards could see it clearly. Then he began the lesson proper.

"Acromantulas are fantastic beasts with a five-star danger rating, and they are difficult to tame. A lone Acromantula doesn't merit five stars, and they usually hunt in small groups. But once they gather in a swarm, even dragons have to give them a wide berth.

"These creatures not only have sharp pincers, but can also spit silk. Their eight barbed legs give them exceptional jumping and climbing abilities...

"However, every creature has its weaknesses. Though Acromantulas are vicious and bloodthirsty, and their eight legs allow them to move quickly and keep their balance,

"you need only restrict their speed and break those eight legs with steady, precise, decisive strikes. Then these dangerous creatures are yours to dispose of."

Lockhart's explanation was so thorough that anyone with a functioning brain could understand it.

Once everyone seemed to understand, he lightly flicked his wand. An orderly series of glowing footprints appeared on the floor in the middle, roughly alternating between Z-shaped and S-shaped patterns.

The projection then began to rewind, returning to the scene where "Lockhart" had started "toying" with the Acromantulas.

Lockhart continued his explanation.

"I believe most of you already know the Dancing Charm, the Impediment Jinx, and Petrificus Totalus. If you don't, that's all right.
