Although Harry's answer was bizarre, there was nothing really wrong with it.

The Sphinx thought it over, then stood up, straightened her forelegs, and moved aside.

"Correct. You may pass."

As soon as Harry gave his answer, he realized what he had said and flushed. He hoped Sirius wouldn't misunderstand. He really hadn't meant it.

"Thank you."

Draco didn't think that much of it. After thanking the Sphinx, he grabbed the still-embarrassed Harry and continued running toward the center of the maze.

They ran a little farther and reached another fork. Harry pointed his wand.

"Point Me."

The wand spun, then pointed toward the path on the right.

Without hesitation, they raced down it and soon spotted a light.

The Five-Wizard Cup stood on a silver pedestal a hundred meters away, gleaming enticingly.

Though they were overjoyed, they knew that this final hundred-meter stretch was bound to hold an even harder challenge.

Draco had a terrible feeling and couldn't help taking a deep breath.

"Harry, same plan as before. Make a run for it, and I'll cover you. If... if something holds me up, don't look back."

Harry shook his head firmly. Tightening his grip on his wand, he said resolutely,

"Don't be stupid. We're going to lift that trophy together! This glory belongs to both of us!"

Draco sighed and didn't argue further, but privately, he made other plans.

They cast every sort of enhancement charm on themselves before charging forward side by side.

The moment they entered the final stretch, the towering hedges on either side began shaking wildly. Vines sprouted at a furious pace, coiling toward Harry and Draco like snakes.

That wasn't all. A dense swarm of fist-sized spiders and scorpions poured out of the hedges, pincers raised and stingers curled, crawling toward the two champions.
