A cold chuckle rang out, and the surrounding space froze the streak of golden light in place.
Suddenly immobilized, Zombie Sentry, controlled by the Void, did not panic. Powerful energy erupted from his body, breaking through the spatial restraint.
His eyes filled with excitement as he looked at Mercer.
"Just as I thought... you're nothing like those weaklings. You taste better!"
As soon as he finished speaking, even stronger stellar energy erupted from Zombie Sentry, forming a massive pillar of light that shot into the sky and straight out of the atmosphere.
Everyone in the city could clearly see the dazzling pillar of light.
Normally, anyone who witnessed such powerful energy would have been surprised, if not outright shocked.
Zombie Sentry saw the gratifying astonishment on the faces of Stark and Captain America, who were watching from the sidelines. Even Zombie Wanda looked grave.
He was about to savor the look on Mercer's face, but Mercer's expression made him pause.
Why did he look even more... excited?
As Mercer watched the immense pillar of energy erupting from Zombie Sentry, he truly was excited.
Energy! It was energy!
He had traveled through so many universes, choosing star systems without life whenever possible. Even when they did contain life, those drifting, antlike creatures were hardly worth his attention.
Although Mercer's Infinity Stones were essentially an infinite energy supply, there was no telling what large-scale undertaking he might attempt in the future. His energy supply had to keep pace with his needs.
If he relied solely on these few Infinity Stones, he would not even have backup power if something went wrong.
"I'll have to capture this guy alive." As Mercer watched Zombie Sentry, the corners of his mouth rose slightly, and the expression sent a shiver through the latter.
It felt
