Shiliubuliu answered as he drew his bow to its fullest, then loosed an arrow that knocked down a player pillaring upward with dirt blocks.
Mercer nodded. He did not think it was a big deal. They could not get inside the "Obsidian Tesseract" anyway. Even if they looted everything outside, it would amount to less than one percent of what he owned. He could easily rebuild it.
"How many people did they bring?"
Mercer looked beyond the city walls. There were so many players outside that he could not count them all at a glance. He had never seen this many players together in the game before.
"A conservative estimate would be over a thousand, and the number's still growing. We've already started gathering people, but we're still badly outnumbered. We only have six hundred or so players defending. Luckily, the walls are made of obsidian, and they can't mine through them. Otherwise, they would've broken in ages ago."
Shiliubuliu explained.
Over a thousand!
Mercer was stunned by that number. A siege involving over a thousand players at once-had anything like that ever happened even in Minecraft in his previous life?
Besides, the game had only been out in the real world for a few days. Gathering a hundred or so players would have been plausible.
But over a thousand? This player named DIO clearly had quite a reputation.
This was just a game. With valuable items tempting them, there were bound to be players who could not resist. They would have no qualms about coming to take them by force.
But there was also the matter of equipment. Most players only had iron armor and iron tools, and mining obsidian with an iron pickaxe was painfully slow.
That was why the defenders had held out for so long. Still,
