Hundreds of Great Xia soldiers clad in black, high-tech exoskeleton armor stood silently at fixed intervals.
Each held a sword with its blade pointed down, an air of lethal resolve radiating from them.
"Enemy attack at coordinates 257, 645, 854 to the northwest. Deal with it immediately."
Commander Lianfeng's voice suddenly sounded in every soldier's ear. Apart from those stationed at that location, none of them moved, their eyes remaining fixed ahead with unwavering determination.
Along the border, a "black line" suddenly advanced. Their longswords swung in unison, unleashing tangible waves of sword energy that blasted apart nearly seventy percent of the approaching tanks.
Dozens of tanks were lost in that single strike. Those still advancing abruptly stopped, then slowly backed away after a moment.
Watching the enemy retreat, the Great Xia soldiers made no move to pursue. They simply returned to the border and resumed their guard duty.
In Great Xia's command room.
Lianfeng watched the battle unfold on the screen and nodded in satisfaction.
"Lianfeng, this Southern Heavenly Gate system really works. Great Xia now has the strength to contend with those alien races. No, not just contend with them-we've even surpassed some spacefaring powers."
Clad in Black Armor, Sun Wukong stood beside Lianfeng, praising the Southern Heavenly Gate system repeatedly.
He no longer needed to fight on the front lines. As long as no gods descended, Great Xia's current forces were more than capable of handling things themselves.
Lianfeng said, "As soon as Mercer left, we organized a team to study this system. We've only equipped a little over three hundred soldiers, but we can at least defend the border now. We no longer have to worry about foreign mercenaries invading."
