"These were all illusions?!"

Seeing the three of them standing unharmed behind Mercer, Dr. Pym tried to shrink again. But no matter how hard he pressed with his right hand, the Red Button simply wouldn't budge.

It felt just like the invisible wall that had blocked him when he tried to escape earlier.

From the moment Mercer entered the room, everything that followed had been an illusion he conjured using a sliver of the Reality Stone's power.

Mercer waved a hand, and all of Dr. Pym's equipment fell off him.

Although the three people present hadn't died, Hawkeye and Hulk really were dead.

"That goddamn lunatic! Banner and Clint really are dead!" Stark cursed.

He wasn't heartless. He had genuinely enjoyed working with Banner lately.

Few people understood his ideas so well, let alone matched his intellect and complemented his work with expertise in other fields.

Fortunately, Mercer had stepped in. The gap between them was so vast that he had instantly resolved a problem that had left them tearing their hair out.

It made Stark and the others feel like idiots.

"They can be brought back."

Mercer spoke suddenly.

"How?"

The others fixed their eyes on him and hurriedly asked.

"With the Time Stone, one of the Infinity Stones," Mercer said. "It can rewind time. We can use it to bring Banner and Clint back."

"Where is this Time Stone?"

"Give me a moment. I'll go borrow it. Get Clint's and Banner's bodies ready."

With that, Mercer vanished right in front of them.

Nick Fury and the other two exchanged blank looks, seeing the astonishment in one another's eyes.

He could even borrow something like that?

Just how much pull did Mercer have?
