Background / History

Origin and life on Earth

Ye Fan’s reincarnation was arranged by Jun Moxiao, who formed a remnant soul from Ye Tian’s lingering obsession. During Ye Fan’s exploration of Kunlun, speaking to the grave of Ruthless Great Emperor’s brother relieved an unexplained pain in his heart; the narration identifies this as Ye Fan effectively speaking to himself 372.

Before cultivation, Ye Fan had spent three years working after university, earned enough to buy a Mercedes-Benz, and preferred not to advertise his success. He collected stories about immortal cultivation, read the Yellow Emperor’s Inner Canon, and explored ancient sites and myths 320.

At a class reunion, Jun Moxiao’s photograph gave him an inexplicable feeling of familiarity. He defended the unfamiliar young man against Liu Yunzhi’s mockery, telling Pang Bo afterward that they might have met in a previous life 320.

Departure and the changed fate of his family

The Nine Dragons Pulling the Coffin carried Ye Fan from Earth to a cultivation world. After twenty years away, he urgently sought a route home because he missed his parents; a Starry Sky Coordinates Map and the Black Emperor’s assistance eventually enabled his return 330 356 359.

While Ye Fan was absent, Jun Moxiao traveled three years into the past and gave his parents and Xu Qiong Pan Peach Immortal Fruits. He restored their youth, arranged for his parents to have three daughters, and ensured Xu Qiong could continue waiting for Ye Fan 330.

Ye Fan returned expecting aging parents and a girlfriend whose life had moved on. Instead, he found his family transformed and unexpectedly powerful. Overwhelmed with gratitude, he vowed to repay Jun Moxiao’s kindness through lifetime after lifetime of service 362 363 364.

Heavenly Court

On Big Dipper, Ye Fan agreed to Qi Luo’s proposal to establish Heavenly Court after learning about the Ancient Heavenly Court. He later founded a branch on Earth, where Zhang Qingyang spread its influence and gathered faith in Ye Fan as Heavenly Emperor 369 371.

Under Ye Fan and his companions, Heavenly Court grew to encompass eight star systems and more than a hundred ancient stars. After becoming a Great Emperor, he suppressed his own Emperor Dao marks within his body, and Heavenly Court eventually housed more than a dozen Great Emperors 487 511.

His long pursuit of immortality was driven partly by separation from his family, who entered the Immortal Domain before him. He ultimately fulfilled his promise to lead Heavenly Court into immortal ascension and reunited with them after hundreds of thousands of years 509 512.

Appearance

Ye Fan is described as handsome and capable of presenting himself as a graceful young gentleman, though his later trademark outfit deliberately resembles a rustic traveler’s clothing 320 387 421.

• Straw hat, sunglasses, and cigar — his recurring appearance after obtaining Jun Moxiao’s gifts; the seemingly shabby accessories conceal extraordinary weapons and cultivation aids 371 421 422.
• White robes — become bloodstained during his campaign against the Heavenly Son’s subordinates 387.

Personality

Ye Fan’s early restraint contrasts with his later showmanship. On Earth, he avoided displaying his wealth; after acquiring powerful equipment, he openly taunted opponents and enjoyed humiliating arrogant challengers. Even so, he remained wary of political entanglements, declining a proposed marriage to Feng Huang because he lacked the strength to protect others and did not want to become bound to ancient families’ interests 320 349 420 424.

He is fiercely protective of family, disciples, and friends. Threats against Ye Tong provoke immediate retaliation, while he deliberately draws hostile attention onto himself to make his companions safer. He also accepts a battlefield away from Tyrant Body Star to avoid harming ordinary inhabitants 404 466 505.

His tactical caution includes disguising himself, concealing breakthroughs, and pretending his healed Dao injury remains fatal to lure enemies out. His retaliation can be uncompromising, but he initially offers the Fan clan a chance to withdraw because their Evolution Liquid helped him advance 352 424 426.

Despite repeatedly benefiting from Jun Moxiao’s intervention, Ye Fan comes to insist that his group must develop its own strength. He also credits earlier powerful figures for the foundations that made his achievements possible rather than claiming all the glory himself 511 513.
