I think I mentioned this before: part three of Shrouding the Heavens was a transitional arc, meant to ease the passage between the two main storylines. I had actually planned to write (pad it out) a little more.

But the plot was simply too flat, and I wasn't enjoying writing it myself.

So I decided I might as well open a new arc and try something entirely fresh.

To give you a rough idea of part four of Shrouding the Heavens, you can think of it as a what-if timeline branching off the original story: if the Corpse Immortal Emperor had planted a sliver of the source of darkness in the Nine Heavens and Ten Earths back then, how would history have unfolded?

I named this arc the Darkness Tributary. As a tributary, after all, it was a branch of the river of time destined to run dry-a parallel world with no future.

The keywords for this arc would probably be: a cast full of villains, the whole world against you, and the sheer thrill of battle-

I hope you all enjoy it (extra updates next month).

(The update time will stay the same. I'm actually working the night shift today, and I might not have time to post the main text tomorrow, so I figured I'd do it this way.)
