Saving Duan De from Fire and Water, Prisoner Duan in the Making, Bound for the Western Desert
On the land of the Eastern Wasteland, Duan De was being hunted again for the first time in a long while.
"Immeasurable bloody Heavenly Venerable, stop chasing me!" Duan De fled for his life, protesting aggrievedly, "This poor Daoist has no quarrel with you!"
"Why are you chasing me?"
Seeing his pursuers remain silent and simply keep after him, Duan De realized something was wrong and instinctively muttered, "That shouldn't be right. They shouldn't have noticed when I dug up their ancestral graves!"
"What? You even dug up my ancestral graves?!" The Netherworld King Body flew into a rage, his black battle robes flashing with a cold metallic sheen.
He held a black war halberd with an exceptionally sharp blade. Flecks of bloody light flickered upon it, boundless killing intent sealed within, as though it had drunk the blood of millions of living beings.
Wang Chongxiao swung his halberd, sending blade rays flying, shattering mountains and tearing through space.
"Time to leg it!" Duan De hurriedly activated his spatial Compass, shifting his position repeatedly to dodge the slashes.
"I was wondering why that Compass looked so familiar... it turns out it was buried with our patriarch." An elderly Great Power stared at the Compass Duan De used to traverse space, recognizing it as a burial offering belonging to one of their patriarchs.
Duan De grimaced. Damn it, he had run into the rightful owners.
Duan De laughed awkwardly. "A misunderstanding, nothing but a misunderstanding! This poor Daoist never robbed any graves. I was simply... paying my respects. Ah, yes, paying my respects to the supreme bearing of your esteemed sect's patriarch."
Originally, they had only been pursuing Duan De because of their mission. Now things were different; they were genuinely furious. "You damned fatty, you're dead!"
