Luo Yue paused, considering whether to go inside, when a figure appeared at precisely that moment some ten feet ahead of her, blocking her path.
The newcomer was a young man dressed in plain white brocade robes, with a feather fan and a silk scholar's headcloth. He had handsome features and a gentle bearing. An exquisitely carved pendant of creamy white jade hung at his waist, inscribed with the character "Kong" in ancient seal script.
Luo Yue lifted her icy blue eyes slightly. Her gaze passed over the jade pendant at his waist before settling on his face.
She showed no unnecessary expression and had no intention of exchanging pleasantries. "What do you want?"
The white-robed young man seemed unsurprised by Luo Yue's almost rude indifference, and his smile did not diminish in the slightest.
He cupped his hands, still composed and elegant, and said with a smile, "My name is Kong Ming."
"Kong Ming?"
Luo Yue's expression became exceedingly strange.
"Is your surname Zhuge?" Luo Yue asked.
"My surname is Kong."
The white-robed young man with the feather fan and scholar's headcloth clearly had not expected that question and hastily corrected her.
