Looking at the bottle of potion glowing with an enticing golden sheen in his hand, Lorne raised it, gritted his teeth, and drained it in one gulp.
Gulp.
The golden liquid slid down his throat, into his esophagus, and finally flowed smoothly into his stomach.
Smack, smack. Lorne instinctively licked his lips.
He had to admit, this potion tasted quite good. It had a strange, indescribable sweetness and was remarkably mellow, almost giving him the illusion that he was savoring a superb wine.
It tasted far better than that malicious, ominous cup of Calamity Priest potion.
For some reason, Lorne suddenly felt a pure joy well up from the depths of his heart. Although he was still in an extremely dangerous situation, he inexplicably wanted to laugh.
Clatter.
Lorne's grip loosened, and the empty glass bottle fell straight to the floor.
Almost the instant the bottle landed, he began to feel the potion integrating with him-
He felt as though his soul had been drawn out of his body. Then the potion's power began to permeate him, seeping into every drop of blood, every inch of skin, and every cell.
This time, Lorne felt no discomfort. Everything seemed natural, falling effortlessly into place.
However-
Just as the potion's power was about to merge completely with him, something changed!
Lorne's pupils abruptly contracted, and an indescribable sensation made his body instinctively hunch forward.
The sensation of digestion-it had arrived!
It came swiftly, so swiftly-
So swiftly that even Lorne was caught off guard. Fine beads of sweat instantly appeared on his forehead.
"Ah..." He could not help letting out a muffled groan.
"!"
Bernadette immediately noticed something was wrong with Lorne. She frowned slightly, studying his current condition with curiosity.
"Huff... huff..."
