"A snake!"
Lorne's eyes snapped open, and he warily scanned his surroundings.
His desk, scattered documents, and an empty coffee cup-
He was still in his office-he had simply been too tired and dozed off by accident. Relieved, he rubbed his temples, which felt swollen from sleeping slumped over his desk, and a wave of exhaustion washed over him.
"Looks like even Beyonders can't work themselves beyond their limits."
The newly acquired factories, their staffing, which employees to retain, and the handover of their various operations-all of it awaited his attention. Though he had preserved as much of their original structure as possible, efficiently integrating factories with such different working styles remained a headache.
He possessed the abilities of a "Robot," but some of these matters were new to him. He could only learn as he went, feeling his way forward-
"If only I had a secretary or something," Lorne muttered.
He stood, poured himself a glass of water, and took a small sip.
"That dream just now..." Thinking of the strange dream that had jolted him out of his exhausted sleep, he set the glass down and frowned slightly.
He could no longer remember the details. All he recalled was witnessing a bizarre scene, seemingly from an observer's perspective.
"A pitch-black spire... a giant snake... and a little boy..." He struggled to recall the scene from his dream.
"Hmm... a snake trying to eat a little boy..."
"No!" Lorne shook his head slightly, feeling that this description wasn't quite right. Resting his hand against his chin, he thought for a while before finding a more fitting description. "A delicious-looking snake trying to eat an equally delicious-looking little boy."
"Wait, why would I think that? I'm not a 'Werewolf.'"
"What did that strange dream mean?"
