Lorne laid his hand-drawn copy of the Fortune-Seeking Treasure Map, reproduced from memory, beside the Loen Kingdom Standard Map he had obtained from the local city hall. With a ruler and compass in hand, he carefully compared the coordinates and calculated the distances.
Based on his own experience, the two maps together had a margin of error of roughly five to ten percent.
So, accounting for the largest possible discrepancy, the destination marked on the treasure map was about 170 kilometers from Weller.
"That place seems to be a remote village, without so much as a railway platform. If I don't use any transportation..." Lorne rubbed his chin, silently assessing his physical strength.
Although Beyonders of the Monster pathway were physically weaker than those of most other pathways, with a greater emphasis on spirituality and intuition, he was still a demigod. The potion had transformed his body, improving both his endurance and speed.
Even without any transportation, he could run the 170-kilometer distance back and forth several times in a day. Whether he could find anything, however, was another matter.
"But right now, Benson and a whole crowd of municipal officials are following me around. Every day, I have to inspect factory sites and plantations. I can't just vanish in front of them."
