"By the way, are you sure your plan will work?" Lorne glanced at Danitz, who was still adjusting his appearance.
With the unexpected developments and his new injuries, Danitz had abandoned his original plan of rowing straight out to sea in a small boat. Instead, he intended to take a passenger ship to Damir Port and contact the Golden Dream from there.
For that, Lorne had been forced to swallow his embarrassment and ask King Roy to buy them two tickets. All that running around had wasted quite a bit more time.
Danitz stopped what he was doing and said:
"This is our best option right now. After thinking it over, trying to find the Golden Dream ourselves in a little boat would be far too risky."
Lorne gave a slight nod.
Danitz had a point. Lorne knew nothing about conditions at sea and was a poor swimmer, while Danitz, the one with experience, was injured. Heading out to sea alone together really would be a gamble.
Still, having to head straight back the way he had come, so soon after arriving in Bayam, left him rather frustrated.
"Sigh! Anyway... that disguise of yours is a little... hard to comment on." Lorne looked at Danitz's rudimentary disguise, hesitating to say more.
"Uh..."
Apparently realizing that his disguise really wasn't very good, Danitz looked somewhat embarrassed, but stubbornly argued:
"There isn't time for a more elaborate disguise."
"We've already lost an entire day."
"But what if we walk into an ambush?" Lorne asked again.
"We're leaving on short notice, and we didn't even buy the tickets ourselves."
"That bastard 'Steel' can't possibly have the entire harbor under surveillance."
Seeing that Lorne still seemed unconvinced, Danitz grew irritated.
"As long as our luck isn't absolutely abysmal, we'll be fine."
Luck...
At that,
