"Him? Descending?"
Old Billy froze, and the look he gave the old man immediately turned strange. It seemed the old man really was a lunatic. Old Billy naturally understood that "Him" referred to a god, and he held the gods in reverence himself, but hearing this old man talk about a god descending struck him as laughable.
A god would descend? What nonsense was he dreaming up?
"Stop spouting nonsense. I won't believe your ravings, and don't even think about leaving. When the Constable comes back, she'll decide whether you live or die and judge your crimes. Until your execution tomorrow morning, you'll stay quietly in your cell and wait to die."
Old Billy said.
"No, no one can decide whether I live or die. I don't want to die here. I have to leave. Faust will come, a god will come, and demons will come too. You'll all die!" The old man suddenly stood, grabbed the iron door with both hands, and shook it frantically.
"These iron doors can't hold me!"
Old Billy stood up. What had gotten into this old fool? He picked up his baton and struck the old man's hands.
"Behave yourself!"
Old Billy shouted angrily.
"When dusk arrives, destruction will descend upon this place. Everyone will die. No, this dusk has arrived early." The old man shouted as though he had gone utterly mad, letting Old Billy beat his hands until they bled.
And as he shouted that dusk had already arrived, an unnatural light appeared at the police station's window. Then it grew as blinding as sunlight.
Inside the Castro Family Castle, Julius's soul suddenly shimmered with an unusual radiance. A magnificent yellow light spilled from his soul, like the setting sun, like the rising sun.
"What's wrong?"
Elder Rodman opened his eyes.
