"It really is Nov Village. Let's go!"
At the sight of smoke and flames suddenly rising from the village, Cameron picked up his pace, his three daughters following close behind. They were the first to head for Nov Village and should have enough time to find Gargoyle.
The Mistvale Family and the Night Watchers were not the only ones who noticed the unusual sight. Dozens of Extraordinaries surged toward Nov Village from all over Rhode Town. They all understood what had happened, and the day they had been waiting for had finally come.
Bradley also knew it was time to leave. The Night Watchers had to choose between him and Gargoyle.
Take them both?
The Night Watchers did not have what it took.
"What a shame. You're still a step too late. Do you want to stay here and catch me first, or deal with Gargoyle's effects first? Ah, that really is a headache."
Bradley spread his hands and spoke with a hint of regret.
Daniel swayed slightly. He had never suffered such a blow since becoming an Extraordinary. He was filled with loathing for Bradley.
"No matter where you run, the Church will catch you. I swear it on my name as a Night Watcher, Daniel Pacino!"
"Then you'd better work hard. Try your very best to catch me!"
Bradley's figure gradually turned insubstantial. Beside him, the Soul Mystic John opened his mouth, then watched Bradley drift away in ghostly form. There was no longer any point in telling the Night Watchers where he had gone.
The Night Watchers had more important things to do.
Gargoyle must have appeared in the village to the north. John needed to go there and see exactly how Gargoyle caused blood to contaminate souls. That would be very useful for his research.
