|---|---|---|
| Ordinary person — starting state | 1 4 | A college student whose knowledge of lost Huaxian history comes from his previous life rather than an awakened inheritance. |
| Dayu’s absolute inheritor | 14 | Receives Dayu’s ancestral power directly, gaining extraordinary strength and speed. His bloodline becomes connected to Dayu’s regardless of his original ancestry, and he gains authority to awaken or revoke the powers of Dayu’s descendants. |
Background / History
Su Chen awakens in a world where Ancestor Symbols allow historical ancestors to reappear and empower their descendants. After absorbing his new memories, he discovers that Huaxia’s ancient history has largely vanished from its records. His previous-life knowledge lets him recognize its unidentified Ancestor Symbol as a cauldron 1.
His identity in this world is that of a 21-year-old sophomore from an ordinary working-class family, studying a subject unrelated to history. Although he comes from another world, the memories of both lives give him genuine affection for his current family and friends 4 18.
After granting him his inheritance, Dayu reveals that Su Chen’s arrival was deliberate rather than accidental. Su Chen later recalls that Huaxia’s ancestors burned their remnant souls to bring him there. Their precise reasons for choosing him remain unknown, while Dayu warns of an approaching great calamity 15 50.
Appearance
- Unchanged physical appearance: Receiving Dayu’s inheritance transforms his presence but does not alter his appearance 14.
- Flashes of light in his eyes: Two points of light briefly appear when the inheritance transfer finishes 14.
- Golden radiance: His ancestral power surrounds him with dazzling golden light, which he can withdraw into his body 14 15.
- Battle aura: Fully displayed inheritance power produces nearly tangible golden currents and a hurricane rising over the beach 31.
Personality
Su Chen treats inherited power as a responsibility rather than a personal triumph. Instead of celebrating wildly after receiving Dayu’s legacy, he becomes solemn at the burden of protecting Huaxia. He continues addressing Li Shuhua respectfully despite gaining a status that could place him above ordinary authorities 14 15.
He remains composed under national scrutiny and thinks strategically under pressure. His proposal to conceal Huaxia’s strength and lure Haidong into an invasion impresses Zhu Yuanzheng and Li Shuhua. His apparently dangerous solo journey to Sakura is also calculated: he expects the awakened Qin Shi Huang to protect him rather than relying on his own strength against an entire country 17 22 50.
His loyalty centers on the country and its ordinary people, not hereditary superiority. He explicitly rejects the idea that awakened descendants are nobler than others. This concern extends to controlling who receives power, while his conduct toward invaders is merciless: he refuses Jin Dachang’s offers of wealth and kills him 34 36 39.
