Rowan rallied Kul Tiras and its allies against the Scourge, using the Flying Aircraft Carrier and the fleet to defend the kingdom while pursuing new sources of power. The Scourge’s assault continued as Anub'arak attacked the fleet and Faerlina boarded the carrier, while Uther prepared to send Arthas to Kul Tiras.

• Rowan withdrew from Guard Territory, returned to Freehold, and rallied the people while organizing the Family Council and preparing Kul Tiras for war.
• The Scourge attacked Guardpoint Ridge and King's Bay, but Rowan used the completed Flying Aircraft Carrier to bombard the undead and destroy their Flying Citadel.
• Rowan enlisted Saurfang for a mission to the Chamber of Heart, while Arthas claimed Frostmourne and threatened Illucia into supplying Lordaeron.
• Mal'Ganis abducted Lilith, and Maxwell, Uther, and Number Zero began investigating the demon threat and Frostmourne.
• Katrana fought the Scourge, was shot down by a Mage Hunter, and agreed to provide blood for Medivh's enchanting research in exchange for Rowan keeping her identity secret.
• Rowan's forces repelled the Scourge's assault on the frozen Inland Sea, while Anub'arak attacked the flagship and his scarabs began evolving after draining a frost elemental.
• Medivh's party reached the Chamber of Heart and fought Vezax as Medivh attacked the Saronite Crystal protecting its corruption.
• Rowan's forces brought down the Scourge Flying Citadel, but Faerlina boarded the carrier with venomous spiders as Rowan used the Sea Fog to protect himself and Katrana.

Rowan and Kul Tiras drove the Scourge from their shores while the Alliance suffered heavy losses and Arthas grew more determined to surpass Rowan. After the victory, Rowan turned to healing Lord Arthur and traveling to Dalaran, while Ner'zhul resurrected Kel'Thuzad and the threat of the Burning Legion remained.

• Rowan and Katrana defeated Faerlina, while Medivh’s team escaped the collapsing Chamber of Heart with Xal'atath and the Heart of Azeroth.
• Rowan punished Garithos for his crimes, welcomed relief supplies, and secured support from Lordaeron as Arthas and Uther prepared to join the campaign.
• Rowan and his allies tested the Liberator, while the Silver Hand and Kul Tiras forces fought the Scourge at Butcher Heights and Butcher Gorge.
• The Dreadlords broke through the allied defenses, but Rowan’s forces rallied, killed Varimathras, and drove the Scourge out of Kul Tiras.
• Kul Tiras celebrated victory, while Tichondrius stole Kel'Thuzad’s Ash Urn and Ner'zhul resurrected him as a skeletal lich.

• Rowan traveled with Katrana to Dalaran, where Arthas confirmed his identity after a guard refused him entry to the Violet Citadel.

Rowan’s forces and the Silver Hand entered Northrend while Medivh’s squad battled Loken and the Burning Legion’s allies. When Arthas diverted the Silver Hand to attack Icecrown, Rowan took command at the Wrathgate and prepared his remaining forces to breach it.

• Rowan failed to stop the Alliance from giving Arthas the Book of Medivh, while Sylvanas’s squad entered Icecrown and Medivh’s team confronted Loken.
• Rowan strengthened his Northrend operations, arrested Erastha and Dar'Khan, and grew closer to Valeera after she saved him from succubus blood.
• Medivh’s squad fought its way through the Nexus, where Medivh bound Aluneth into a staff, then continued toward Icecrown as Rowan’s fleet arrived in Borean Tundra.
• Arthas established Dawn Stronghold and proposed drawing the Scourge to the Wrathgate while the Silver Hand attacked Icecrown, despite Rowan’s objections.
• Loken battled Medivh’s squad with powers tied to the Titans and Yogg-Saron, while Tichondrius’s forces pursued them and Rowan learned that Yogg-Saron had contacted Xal'atath.
• The Allied Forces fought through the Wrathgate as Ufrang’s cannons, Ingvar’s Vrykul, and a vast Nerubian army struck them, with Jaina, Muradin, and other commanders holding the line.
• Arthas ordered the Silver Hand to withdraw toward Crystalpine Forest and launch a surprise attack on Icecrown, leaving Rowan’s forces to face the advancing Nerubians.
• Rowan reached the Wrathgate, learned that the Silver Hand had left, and ordered his commanders to prepare the remaining forces for an assault that night.

After the Allied Forces captured the Wrathgate, Rowan learned that Arthas had become the Lich King and opened a route into the Shadowlands. Rowan led a party into Bastion to find the souls of former Guardians, while Kil'jaeden recruited Gul'dan and Rowan's team faced dangerous arcane spirits.

• Rowan's forces captured the Wrathgate, while Arthas became the Lich King, entered the Maw, and trapped Uther and other Paladins in the Shadowlands.
• Rowan learned about the Shadowlands from Ysera, ended the Scourge war, and organized an expedition to investigate the realm and seek the souls of former Guardians.
• Rowan's party traveled through Icecrown Citadel's teleportation circle to Oribos, then entered Bastion and gained permission to investigate the Halls of Valor without Bastion's assistance.
• Aegwynn and Rowan's companions found Alodi, who explained the dangers in the Halls of Valor and helped them plan to recover the Guardian souls.
• Rowan's team fought the Halls of Valor's defenses, and Aegwynn restored Skevyn's awareness by placing his stored spiritual consciousness into his soul.
• Kil'jaeden brought Kairoz to Draenor and offered Gul'dan fel power, then showed him a vision of his counterpart's fate and offered him greater power in exchange for going to Azeroth.
• Arcane Aberration Spirits attacked Rowan's team with arcane and temporal magic, injuring their souls, and Rowan discovered that embracing Jaina and Rhonin restored their mental power.
