"Clan Head Fugaku is still far too weak."
On their way back to the village, Oto Uchiha complained again, recounting everything that had happened at the clan meeting.
At the clan meeting, many Uchiha could not bear the villagers' suspicious looks. After all, the Uchiha had lost more ninja during the Nine-Tails' Rampage than anyone else in the village.
Yet Uchiha Fugaku had told them to endure it, even forbidding them from venting their resentment on the villagers.
Oto Uchiha agreed with Fugaku's view, but she could not stand by and watch the Uchiha suffer false accusations. The enemy who had attacked Konoha had clearly also possessed the First's Wood Release.
As Oto divulged her clan's secrets, a strange thought stirred in Zou Hyuga's mind, leaving him with a vague impression.
The Uchiha seemed to trust outsiders more than their own clansmen. Take what Oto was doing now-if he harbored any ill intentions, he could use this against her and threaten her with it.
Was Oto simply too unguarded, or did she trust him too much?
After a pause, Zou Hyuga said, "As you said, your clan head is a little weak, but he's still the best choice for the position. If the other radicals took power, the Uchiha would find themselves in an even more awkward position."
Naturally, he had grounds for saying that.
In the Original Timeline, Uchiha Fugaku had always done his utmost to maintain peace between the Uchiha and the village. If not for Shisui's suicide and Itachi awakening his Sharingan, the Uchiha might have continued to exist in that delicate balance.
Oto Uchiha nodded, only half understanding. Then she looked into Zou Hyuga's eyes and asked, "Zou, if I wanted to become stronger-strong enough to become the Uchiha Clan Head-what should I do?"
"?!" Zou
