Thanks to Team Kakashi's timely intervention, the attack on the famous actress Fujikaze Yukie caused only a minor disturbance before it was quickly brought under control.
Soon afterward, Sandayu visited the mission assignment office, and a new mission to recover the Crystal Pendant appeared on its listings.
The mission was ranked B, as ninja encounters were expected during its course.
Beyond that, Asama Sandayu, a former minister of the Land of Snow, could do little else. He had once been a minister and was now a wealthy merchant traveling the shinobi world, but neither profession had anything to do with being a ninja.
Kazahana Koyuki, however, grieved for a while. After all, it was the only memento her father had left her.
And having just suffered an attack, they dared not leave Konoha recklessly. Kazahana Dōtō of the Land of Snow had murdered his own elder brother; he would not spare his niece.
By morning, Kakashi appeared in the Hokage Office to report his mission to the Third.
After hearing his report, the Third looked at Kakashi and said around his pipe, "You did well. If anything had happened to Miss Fujikaze in the village, it would probably have stirred up another wave of criticism."
Kakashi nodded slightly, then hesitated for a long time before saying, "Lord Third, Miss Yukie is actually the princess of the Land of Snow."
"I know. That's why I assigned you the mission."
The Third nodded, then gestured for Kakashi to leave the office.
After watching Kakashi leave, the Third waved over the head of the mission assignment office and asked mildly, "Have Mr. Asama and Miss Fujikaze posted any missions?"
The man raised his head and said, "They posted a mission to find the Crystal Pendant."
"I see..."
The Third felt a little disappointed.
