After leaving the Hokage Building, Zou Hyuga returned to the underground laboratory he had not visited in so long.
Hearing footsteps, Sasori of the Red Sand appeared at the entrance. After a cold glance, he withdrew the weapons he had poised to strike.
He had indeed become Zou Hyuga's prisoner, but that did not mean he would be civil outside of work. In the end, this was nothing more than a deal.
Zou Hyuga paid no mind to Sasori's attitude and asked casually, "How has Kabuto Yakushi been lately? Still thinking about escaping?"
"Not since I taught him a lesson." Sasori paused, then asked coldly, "Traitor, which member of the organization did you go out to attack this time?"
"How did you know I'd made another move?"
Zou Hyuga looked surprised, then said in a nonchalant tone, "But I'm no longer a missing-nin who betrayed the organization. With Nagato's approval, I've become its new leader. We're hunting down Madara Uchiha."
As he spoke, Zou Hyuga took out a Sealing Scroll, tossed it to Sasori, and headed deeper into the laboratory.
Sasori caught the scroll. After reading through it, he could not hide his shock and began muttering to himself.
He did not believe Zou could defeat their leader, but this was undeniably in Nagato's own hand, and it even carried a faint trace of Rinnegan chakra.
For a moment, shock and defeat flooded his heart. He probably had no chance of ever being free again.
