The instant he crossed the space-time vortex, Zou Hyuga sensed an unprecedented danger.
Jigen, who had been preparing to flee, suddenly had eyes shaped like eight-pointed crosses. One black rod after another abruptly returned to its normal size, piercing Zou Hyuga's arms and calves.
Zou Hyuga immediately felt the flow of chakra within him become restricted. Enduring the pain, he used his Chakra Cloak to pull them out.
Then, amid the space-time turbulence, Zou Hyuga connected to the Shinobi World's chakra network and instantly entered state two. Both his speed and strength rose considerably, and the black rod in his hand pierced straight through Jigen's heart.
Jigen's face turned deathly pale, but to him, a pierced heart was merely an ordinary wound.
He activated Daikokuten, intending to shrink his body and the black rod, only to discover that the rod had turned into a living thing. He could not enlarge or shrink living things at all.
Squelch!
Seizing the opportunity, Zou Hyuga drove several more black rods through Jigen's body, sending blood splattering everywhere.
Zou Hyuga wanted to keep attacking, but the space-time turbulence was far too dangerous. He could only take Jigen back into the alternate dimension and casually throw him to the ground.
After the space-time vortex slowly closed, Zou Hyuga watched Jigen while considering what to do with him.
But before Zou Hyuga could act, Jigen's body turned to ashes that scattered on the wind, as though it had burned away completely.
Caught off guard, Zou Hyuga watched helplessly as Jigen's body disintegrated. He froze for a moment, unable to quite process it. Jigen had not been strong; in fact, he had been far too weak.
Yet there was no trace of Jigen's presence nearby. All he could hear was the Miniature Ten-Tails roaring.
