The Fourth Raikage learned that Iwagakure was suspected of collaborating with the Akatsuki and sent Kakashi back to Konoha with a confidential letter expressing his willingness to oppose them. After reading it, the Third Hokage organized Konoha’s preparations and investigated Danzo, whose youthful appearance and secrecy left him suspicious.

• Mabui gave the Fourth Raikage reports on Akatsuki activity and a report alleging Iwagakure had murky ties with the Akatsuki.
