On the day of Konoha's Chunin Ninja Exams, the examination grounds were already packed early in the morning with ninja from various countries.
The Chunin Ninja Exams tested the strength of the younger generation. To put it plainly, they were exams for promotion from Genin to Chunin, held once every three years, and generally served as an important occasion for countries to gauge one another's national strength.
Any country that wished to could send ninja to participate in the Chunin Ninja Exams. To Ruri, these exams were nothing more than a contest between countries, with each bringing out its finest talent to show off, making them much like military exercises.
"Whoa, aren't these just the Chunin Ninja Exams? Why is it so lively?" Ruri had already arrived at the examination grounds and looked around at the crowds of people from various countries.
"Looking at all this, why does it feel like they're hosting the Olympics?" Ruri looked around and said with a wry smile.
"What? There are even people setting up stalls here! Every shop had a line when I came over just now. It really is lively!" As Ruri spoke, he spotted a familiar face among the people running stalls.
Clearly, besides ninja, quite a few civilians had also come to Konoha as tourists, just as they would when a place hosted some major event.
"Akagimaru! What are you doing here? You've even started selling things!" Ruri walked over to the familiar person he had just spotted and spoke.
"Boss, what brings you over here? The Chunin Ninja Exams are about to start! Well, I ran out of pocket money, didn't I? With the Chunin Ninja Exams going on and so many people around, I skipped school to set up a stall here and earn some spending money!" Akagimaru
