Lightning Blade was a Lightning Release Ninjutsu developed by Kakashi Hatake in Naruto, an improved version of Chidori.
When Kakashi Hatake was young, he used this Ninjutsu to cut through a bolt of lightning from the sky. Thus, the technique was renamed Lightning Blade.
The technique concentrated a large amount of chakra in the hand, generating a powerful electric current. The user then charged forward and pierced the enemy, giving this Ninjutsu tremendous destructive power.
Lightning Blade had an effect similar to the Raikage's use of Lightning Release chakra to activate his cells and increase his movement speed. Its precise speed depended on the variation of Lightning Blade used.
"Holy crap, Lightning Blade is an S-rank Ninjutsu! This is Kakashi's move! But it's a lightning-attribute Ninjutsu. Can I use it?" Ruri said after seeing the Lightning Blade technique.

Lightning surrounds your hand, turning it into a sharp blade that can kill an enemy in one strike. It's powerful enough to pierce straight through a human body! Lightning Blade's defining feature is a thrust that focuses its attack on a single point," Ruri murmured, looking at his hand.
There were also considerable differences between Lightning Blade and Chidori. Chidori used blue-white Lightning Release chakra and produced a chirping sound like a thousand birds, whereas Lightning Blade used deep-blue chakra accompanied by the fierce crackling of electricity, without Chidori's sound.
"Lightning Blade is really powerful, but it's still a close-range Ninjutsu. Oh, right! I seem to remember that I can channel lightning-attribute chakra into a Ruowu and use it in place of my palm for the thrust. The Ruowu infused with Lightning Release chakra was not only more powerful but also incredibly fast. In less than half a second, it had already reached the Pagoda Tree.

When the lightning-infused Ruowu shattered the first Peach Blossom Tree, it lost none of its speed or power and continued flying onward.
As the Ruowu pierced the fourth tree, it gradually slowed, and its power weakened along with its speed. Finally, it lodged in the fifth tree.
