"Captain, you really do appear out of nowhere! You nearly scared me to death just now. Good thing I can take a shock, or you might be looking at my corpse right now!" Ruri patted his chest as he spoke to Kakashi.
Clearly, Ruri had not been frightened by Kakashi at all. Perhaps he was only acting this way because he wanted to talk to Kakashi more.
"All right, all right, stop that. You're such a coward. Anyway, you were standing here lost in thought for so long just now. Were you thinking about something?" Kakashi patted Ruri's shoulder and asked with a smile.
Ruri nodded, then said to Kakashi, "Yes, Captain. I was thinking about some things from the past! But that was all long ago!"
"Oh, can you tell me about it? Let me see if there's anything I can help you sort out!" Kakashi leaned against the tree trunk, then turned to Ruri and said with a smile.
After hearing Kakashi's words, Ruri turned and looked at him for a few seconds before saying with a smile, "All right, then. I'll tell you what I was just thinking about!"
"Captain, don't you think this era we're living in is especially unfair? War could break out anywhere now, and even kids like us get sent to the battlefield. Don't you think we're really unlucky?" Ruri leaned against the big tree and looked ahead as he spoke.
"Indeed. If you put it that way, we really are very unlucky. We're still so young, yet we get sent to the battlefield to carry out missions and kill enemies. It's a very cruel thing, but there's nothing we can do. We have to do it. After all, our parents brought us into the world in this era!" Kakashi said to Ruri.
