"Huh? Be a teacher?"
Ling Feng raised an eyebrow. What was this about?
"Yes. Lord Third said the Chunin Ninja Exams originally scheduled for half a month from now have been postponed by a month for certain reasons. This also means the situation in the Shinobi World is growing increasingly unstable, so Lord Third hopes we can achieve a major increase in our pass rate this time."
Minato Namikaze promptly relayed everything Lord Third had said to Ling Feng.
Ling Feng soon understood. Lord Third was finding something for him to do.
No wonder nobody had come looking for trouble after he offended Konoha's two major clans. Lord Third must have held them off.
Then Lord Third could ask him to do some work in return, with every justification.
He really was a sly old fox. There was nothing wrong with that plan.
"Sure. I just need to guide the students into passing the Chunin Ninja Exams, right?"
Ling Feng leaned against the back of his chair and spoke unhurriedly.
Minato Namikaze nodded. "That's right, but this won't be easy. According to our intelligence, the extra month before the Chunin Ninja Exams will give the other villages time to prepare as well. The number of participants will also increase accordingly, making things considerably harder."
"Heh, the other villages don't have a teacher like me. What's there to worry about? The more people they send, the more people will get eliminated."
Ling Feng smiled confidently.
Seeing this, Minato Namikaze said, "Ling Feng, Lord Third wants you to raise the pass rate to over seventy percent!"
"You should know that the usual pass rate is only around fifty percent. This time, not only will there be twice as many participants, but the pass rate has to reach seventy percent. That's no small challenge. Are you confident?"
Without another word, Ling Feng actually crossed his legs again right in front of Minato Namikaze and said casually, "If I don't manage it, I'll give you this house."
Seeing how confident Ling Feng was, Minato Namikaze began questioning everything he knew.
His mind was full of questions.
What makes you so sure?
There are so many of them, and not everyone has your talent. Can they really catch up in just a month?
Minato Namikaze had originally thought that giving Ling Feng such a difficult assignment would at least make him feel challenged.
He had never expected Ling Feng to treat it like a game, without taking it seriously at all.
Seeing the doubt written all over Minato Namikaze's face, Ling Feng rose with a smile, walked over to him, and said calmly, "Minato-sensei, according to the rules, I can take part in the Chunin Ninja Exams too, right?"
At those words, Minato Namikaze jolted in surprise, his mind reeling.
That's right! Why didn't I think of that?
"Ling Feng, you mean..."
Ling Feng nodded. "Exactly. The rules of the Chunin Ninja Exams are no secret anymore. I'm a Genin now, so there's no problem with me taking part. As for the passing requirements, we have to seize the Heaven and Earth Scrolls. Any team that has a complete set of Heaven and Earth Scrolls and makes it through the Forest of Death wins."
"So as long as I'm there, I can make sure everyone from our village gets the scroll they need. Forget a seventy-percent pass rate. I could manage eighty or even ninety percent."
Minato Namikaze was stunned. Ling Feng was planning to seize all the enemy villages' scrolls by himself. Was he insane?
"But... even if you take their scrolls, how will you make sure nobody takes ours? There's only one of you, isn't there?" Minato Namikaze questioned.
"Heh, that's not something you need to worry about, Minato-sensei. Raising the pass rate for these Chunin Ninja Exams is my assignment, isn't it?"
Ling Feng gave him a mysterious smile.
Ling Feng felt he had already revealed enough about his plan.
I'm going to take them all on myself. But how am I supposed to explain exactly how I'll do it?
I can't exactly say I have a Sage Body, a Yin Seal, and all kinds of B-Rank ninjutsu, and that my strength has already reached the level of an Elite Jonin, can I?
As long as I finish the assignment, what does it matter how I do it?
After hearing Ling Feng's response, Minato Namikaze also realized he had said too much. He had only come to relay Lord Third's orders, so he stopped asking questions and took his leave.
"Take care, Minato-sensei. I won't see you out."
Ling Feng watched Minato Namikaze leave, then stood in the courtyard and began to think.
There was a month and a half left until the Chunin Ninja Exams. That wasn't a short time, but it certainly wasn't long either.
For Ling Feng, who had the System Shop, it was ample time for a training cycle. But for the ordinary children of this world, he would have to find another way.
Since this important responsibility had been entrusted to him, he had to do it properly.
Ling Feng knew perfectly well that Lord Third had held off the trouble from the two major clans for him, which was why he had no qualms about making Ling Feng step up and complete such a demanding assignment.
But Ling Feng had his own motives, too.
If the students he taught really passed the Chunin Ninja Exams, they would show him a certain measure of respect whenever they saw him in the future.
Without him, they might have needed several more attempts before they could pass.
Thus, Ling Feng began carefully considering a training plan for the next month and a half.
After thinking it over, Ling Feng decided to focus on three areas.
The first was physical conditioning, the most fundamental kind of training. The journey through the Forest of Death was long. Even traveling nonstop, it would take a full day and night. Along the way, they also had to avoid being spotted by enemies, since any fight would prolong the journey. Stamina was therefore crucial.
Ling Feng could help them seize the Heaven and Earth Scrolls, and even protect them, but he couldn't travel for them.
The second was developing teamwork. Each team consisted of three people, and improving their ability to fight together would help them deal with hostile forces. They didn't need to be particularly strong, either. They only needed to avoid losing and keep their Heaven and Earth Scrolls from being taken.
The third was reconnaissance and counter-reconnaissance, both crucial skills. Mastering them would allow the students to conceal their movements as effectively as possible. As long as they did their best to avoid clashes with enemies, they could make it through the Forest of Death in the shortest possible time.
He believed that with these three areas covered, plus his personal assistance in the exam, anyone who wasn't an idiot or a complete moron should be able to pass.
As for those who were hopelessly stupid, there was nothing he could do.
In any case, Ling Feng only needed to ensure a minimum pass rate of seventy percent to complete the assignment.
With his preparations finished, Ling Feng went to bed early.
The next day, Ling Feng got up and went straight to the Ninja Academy, where a teacher was already waiting on the training ground.
"Ling Feng, here's the list of participants for these Chunin Ninja Exams. There are ninety people in total, divided into thirty teams."
The teacher in charge had already received the news. Although he found it hard to believe that a child of only seven or eight would be taking over, he still followed orders and completed the handover with Ling Feng.
