Just like that, the first Kirigakure ninja to provoke Ling Feng was put out of commission on the spot.

Everyone stared, dumbstruck.

The other two Kirigakure ninja gaped so wide they could have fit fists in their mouths.

"No way! Are Konoha's brats really this terrifying?"

Kurenai Yuhi and the others, however, burst into cheers.

"Wow! You're amazing, Ling Feng!"

"You're so strong, Ling Feng!"

Ling Feng smiled and deactivated Fish Reflected in Earth. After all, keeping that thing active consumed chakra!

Then he waved a hand lightly. "Keep it low-key, low-key."

Ding! Gained 20 points!

Ling Feng grew even happier at the notification. It seemed his move had stunned the enemies too!

Nice, nice. That bit of showing off paid off!

Although that C-rank ninjutsu had consumed quite a bit of stamina and chakra, it had earned him 20 points. Worth it!

However, he had very little chakra left.

With that, both enemies launched their attacks together.

Ling Feng didn't move a muscle.

"Got him!"

"This brat's still showing off with death staring him in the face!"

His classmates cried out in alarm too.

"Ling Feng, run!"

But what happened the next second left everyone stunned.

With a poof, Ling Feng turned into a wooden stump.

"What?! The Substitution Technique? When did he-"

"Damn it, I didn't see him make any hand seals!"

The two stopped and looked around, but found nothing unusual.

"Damn it, where did that brat go?"

"Hmph! He must have run away!"

One of them spoke through gritted teeth.

"Then forget that brat. Let's hurry up and kill those three Anbu, then take the remaining brats away!"

The other spoke.

"Right. We shouldn't linger here. That brat makes me uneasy!"

Then the two turned and walked toward Kurenai Yuhi and the others.

But the instant they split up-

Ling Feng moved.

"Earth Release: Headhunter Jutsu!"

With a low shout, Ling Feng emerged beneath one man's feet and hauled him straight into the dirt.

Then he slammed a whipping kick into the man's skull, knocking him unconscious on the spot and taking him out of the fight.

"What?! When did you get underground?!"

The last remaining Kirigakure ninja was so terrified his eyes nearly popped out.

Ling Feng brushed the dirt off himself and chuckled. "That's not something you need to worry about."

Seeing that he was the only one left, the man's legs trembled with fear.

What do I do? What do I do?!

Suddenly, the last enemy ran straight to Kurenai Yuhi and Rin Nohara, pressing a kunai against each girl's throat.

"Brat! You'd better not make any sudden moves, or I'll kill them both!"

The enemy glared fiercely at Ling Feng, watching his every movement.

This terrified the two little girls, Kurenai Yuhi and Rin Nohara.

Even Kakashi and Might Guy were stunned. They hadn't anticipated this at all.

"Kurenai, Rin! This..."

"Ling Feng! Hurry and think of a way to save them!"

Even Kakashi was frightened. His first instinct was to turn to Ling Feng for help.

Ling Feng's brow furrowed at the sight.

"You'd better let them both go right now. Otherwise, I'll kill you outright!"

Ling Feng had only incapacitated the first two so they could be taken back for interrogation.

But this man's actions had clearly crossed a line. Threatening him right to his face? He must have been tired of living!

"Hmph! You're still showing off after things have come to this? Your friends' lives are in my hands!"

"Hahaha! One life for two. That's not a bad trade!"

The enemy was immensely pleased with himself.

In his eyes, he was far cleverer than his two companions. Even if he died in the end, he could take two others down with him.

"So you're determined to do this."

Ling Feng spoke in a low, icy voice.

The enemy shivered at his tone, but with hostages in hand, he mustered his courage. "Stop bluffing! You wouldn't dare come over here. Now get out of my way! Otherwise, I really will do it!"

"Oh? Go ahead and try, then."

Ling Feng sneered.

"You really think I don't dare? You want me to try, right? Fine! I'll try! I'll kill one first and show you!"

With that, the enemy actually raised the kunai in his hand. He really was about to strike.

Ling Feng narrowed his eyes. "Hmph! You're asking to die!"

Just as the kunai was about to touch Kurenai Yuhi, another Ling Feng appeared behind the enemy and sent him flying with a kick.

"Try it and die! Now I'll send you to your grave!"

As the enemy flew backward through the air, he cried out in disbelief, "What?! The Shadow Clone Technique! When?!"

"Want to know? Ask in your next life!"

"Fire Release: Great Fireball Technique!"
