"Iruka-sensei, why does someone as outstanding as me have to be on a team with a guy like this?"
Hearing that, Chiba couldn't help pressing a hand to his forehead.
Sure enough, aside from one inconsequential person, the plot was still following its original course!
"Sasuke and Chiba both had the best final grades in the class."
"You, Naruto, were the one at the bottom."
"These assignments were made to ensure that every team has roughly equal strength!" Iruka admonished him.
The classroom erupted into a commotion again.
Chiba watched the somewhat dejected Naruto, lost in thought.
Perhaps I could change all of this?
Having come to the Naruto World, he would have wasted the trip if he simply let all those regrettable events happen again.
More importantly, he had some theories about his special advantage, the sign-in system, that he needed to test.
If those theories proved correct, his path to greater strength would keep expanding!
Once the team assignments were over, Chiba wandered out of the classroom.
To his surprise, he spotted Naruto Uzumaki asking Sakura Haruno out on a date.
But Sakura Haruno had nothing but Uchiha Sasuke on her mind, so naturally, she paid Naruto Uzumaki's words no heed.
After being rejected, Naruto Uzumaki looked utterly dejected.
Speechless, Chiba walked over to him.
"Hey, Naruto!"
Naruto Uzumaki raised his head to look at Chiba, his expression utterly lifeless.
"Big Bro Chiba..."
"When did you go blind?"

Naruto Uzumaki looked completely bewildered at Chiba's words.
He couldn't think of anything he had done wrong.
Why was Big Bro Chiba scolding him?
Chiba glanced at him and continued:
"Why do you like Sakura Haruno?"
"What exactly attracts you to her?"
At that question, Naruto Uzumaki hung his head and sighed:
"Sakura is pretty!"
No sooner had he spoken than Chiba's voice rang out.
"That's why I asked when you went blind."
"You clearly have better options, yet you insist on chasing someone who has no interest in you."
"As your big brother, there's something I want to tell you."
Naruto Uzumaki was utterly confused, unable to understand what Chiba was getting at.
"Simps never meet a good end!"
Shaking his head, Chiba walked away.
Naruto Uzumaki was left standing alone, struggling to work out what those words meant.
There was plenty of time ahead. Some things didn't need to be spelled out all at once.
Now that they were confirmed to be in Team 7 together, Chiba was looking forward to the days ahead!
After getting nowhere with his pondering, Naruto Uzumaki decided to find Sakura Haruno again and ask her to eat with him.
This time, however, he chose to use the Transformation Technique.
At the crucial moment, though, Naruto got a stomachache and rushed off to the bathroom.
Standing up high, Chiba took in everything that happened.
He was deeply disappointed in his little brother's performance.
"Seriously, isn't the Hyuga Clan Heiress pretty?"
"Why are you so fixated on Sakura Haruno?"
"I wasn't exaggerating one bit when I said there was something wrong with your eyes!"
When Uchiha Sasuke appeared again, the atmosphere grew somewhat strange.
Sasuke Uchiha asked Sakura Haruno where Naruto was.
Instead, she began criticizing Naruto Uzumaki.
"Someone like Naruto clearly has no one to teach him manners."
With a smug expression, Sakura Haruno said:
"You know, he doesn't have parents, does he?"
No sooner had she finished than another voice came from beside her.
"Does someone liking you give you the right to do whatever you want?"
Chiba leaped down from the raised platform, landing without a sound.
"Clearly, expecting any decency from you was a complete mistake!"
"I'll have to teach you a little lesson so you remember."
As his words fell, a cold glint shot from Chiba's hand!
Clang!
Sasuke Uchiha reacted with remarkable speed.
He instinctively drew a kunai and blocked the attack for Sakura Haruno.
"Oh?"
Chiba looked at Sasuke Uchiha with an unfriendly gaze.
"Sasuke Uchiha, are you trying to meddle?"
Though they would soon be on the same team, Chiba had no intention of indulging him.
"Attacking a classmate without warning is the real mistake!"
Sasuke Uchiha's gaze was dangerous.
"Forget it. I can't be bothered to waste words on you."
Chiba waved a hand and said:
"Since you're so eager to meddle, I'll make you submit first!"
As those words fell, Sasuke Uchiha's pupils contracted sharply.
He realized that Chiba's voice seemed to be coming from behind him!
Something icy pressed firmly against his neck.
The chill of the kunai left his entire body frozen in place!
