When people spoke of the universe, they usually imagined darkness, cold, and unfathomable depths, yet also hidden life and hope.

But on the Extraterrestrial Battlefield, at the outermost borders of the territories of the many supreme races of the Primitive Universe, the cosmos presented an entirely different sight.

The vast, empty cosmic secret region was still cold, but the starry expanse of this battlefield was undoubtedly far more eventful.

Broken corpses, grotesque carapaces, heaps of ruined weapons, spaceship components... this debris of war piled into mountains hundreds or even thousands of kilometers across, floating silently in the void...

Brutal, cold, and fraught with danger.

Indistinct shadows frequently passed between these heaps of war debris. There were high-tech spaceships, hideous biological warships, and powerful beings who traversed the universe in the flesh. All moved cautiously through space, alert to even the slightest danger.

This was where the territories of three of the Primitive Universe's six great races—the Human Race, the Machine Race, and the demon race—met. It was also one of the eleven Extraterrestrial Battlefields designated by the Human Race—the Fourth Battlefield!

As a massive battlefield that the supreme races had established specifically for war, the Fourth Battlefield occupied an absurdly vast expanse of spacetime. Its greatest diameter exceeded 3.4 million light-years. Once an immense cosmic secret region, it had been cleared out by the three great races for use in their wars.

On such a battlefield, enormous military formations charged one another almost every minute, and tens of thousands of Universe Level soldiers died every second.

To maintain their advantage here, three of the universe's four supreme races—the human race, the Machine Race, and the demon race—had supplied the battlefield with tremendous numbers of troops. Vast numbers of warriors poured into it every day.

Humanity, for example, had no fewer than fifty-four enormous AAA God Bases on the Fourth Battlefield. Each military base could house tens of millions of world lord warriors, while its Universe Level and domain lord soldiers were too numerous to imagine.

Below these were even greater numbers of medium and small bases, arrayed around them.

That day, in the world lord warriors' rest area of the C37 AAA Divine Base, one of those fifty-four military bases, an unremarkable-looking man walked slowly through an elegant, magnificent hall with his hands clasped behind his back, amid hundreds of thousands of world lords.

He was a young man clad in plain, jet-black battle armor, roughly two meters tall, with a slender build and steady steps. His features were somewhat gentle, and his black eyes were calm and deep, yet seemed to allow not even light to escape.

Between his brows, a complex, obscure law pattern flickered. It was an infinitely deep black, yet also immeasurably vast and weighty.

"It's Captain Guixu!"

"Lord Xu!"

"Army Lord Guixu!"

At the sight of him, the nearby world lords looked startled. Many rose from their seats without prompting. Even numerous powerful world lords bearing Origin Laws marks between their brows stood to greet him, some respectfully, others reverently.

It was a strange sight. The man was clearly only a world lord, yet every world lord present treated him with considerable respect, addressing him as Army Lord Guixu.

Every world lord there knew the reason: the world lord codenamed Guixu was an extraordinary figure whom humanity's military system had recognized as possessing the combat strength of an Immortal Military Lord while still at the World Master Level!

Army Lord Guixu had killed a top-tier Immortal Military Lord in direct combat while still at the World Master Level!

These world lords understood all too well that, despite sharing the same rank, the World Master of Guixu before them had become a powerful being who practically belonged to a different world.

"Long time no see, Strange Medicine, Guangling, Wild Dog, Illusionist..."

The man codenamed Guixu did not mind the attention of so many world lords. Smiling, he greeted several he knew, but did not stop. Spatial law patterns flickered beneath his feet as he strode straight toward the depths of the Divine Base.

"Guixu, long time no see!"

Suddenly, a deep, rough male voice rang out from the crowd of world lords. An indistinct object was tossed into the air, tracing a perfect golden-red arc imbued with spatial laws as it hurtled toward the man named Guixu.

Smack!

Army Lord Guixu remained perfectly calm at the unexpected throw. He merely raised a hand and caught the object firmly.

It was a spherical container fashioned from golden-red crystal, blazing like a miniature star. A crystalline crimson liquid flowed inside it, giving off the glow of laws.

"It's been years, Zhuoyan, my friend!"

Army Lord Guixu, Li Che, paid no mind to the spherical container's surface temperature of over a thousand degrees. He simply turned and waved to a powerfully built man in the distance, a scarlet-gold law mark burning between his brows.

"Hahaha! When we first met five eras ago, you were just an unremarkable little domain lord soldier in my legion. Now, after only fifty-odd thousand years, even I'm no longer confident I could beat you!"

Army Lord Zhuoyan's laughter thundered. Though he, too, was only a world lord, his imposing presence set him apart from those around him. He was stronger by far.

Clearly, he was another world lord who defied the normal limits, possessing the combat strength of an undying army lord despite his rank.

"You flatter me. Without your protection in those early years, Zhuoyan, I doubt I would have survived this Extraterrestrial Battlefield."

Holding the bottle of fine wine that resembled a miniature star, Li Che slowly walked over and sat opposite Army Lord Zhuoyan, speaking with a smile.

Army Lord Zhuoyan was a world lord from the Desolate God Race, one of humanity's great races. He also appeared to be a core member of the Virtual Universe Company, and was Li Che's senior on the Extraterrestrial Battlefield.

After Li Che had been certified as possessing the combat strength of an Immortal Military Lord, the two had even formed a team and explored a dangerous location deep within the Fourth Extraterrestrial Battlefield. They could be considered comrades who had faced life and death together.

"I was only doing my duty. I've led countless Universe Level and world lord warriors over the years, but you're the only one who's achieved anything like this."

Army Lord Zhuoyan snatched the miniature-star-like wine bottle from Li Che's hand and cheerfully filled a large cup for each of them.

"We may both be World Master Level army lords, but an old fellow like me, who's lived for over seven hundred eras, can't compare with a youngster like you who's only lived for five or six!"

Li Che raised his cup, gently swirling the thick, lava-like crimson wine within, then drained it in one gulp.

This wine, called Ochrefire Vintage, was extremely precious and aided comprehension of both fire and spatial laws. That single mouthful alone had probably cost seventy or eighty Hunyuan Units.

As the fine wine entered his stomach, its fiery sting sent a shudder through even a World Master Level expert like Li Che. Even certain fragments of memory buried deep in his mind gradually became clearer.

By my reckoning, it's been nearly sixty thousand years since I transmigrated into this Swallowed Star dimension.

He drank with Army Lord Zhuoyan of humanity's Desolate God Race. Before long, they had finished the Ochrefire Vintage, worth nearly a thousand Hunyuan Units. Even the bottle that resembled a miniature star was crushed, mixed into the wine, and drunk by the two of them.

"To be honest with you, Zhuoyan, fifty-odd thousand years feels like a long time to me. I'm preparing to retire."

After draining the final cup of fine wine, Li Che leaned back in his sumptuous, soft chair, relaxed in both body and mind. This was the interior of an AAA God Base, an absolutely safe zone. He had no fear whatsoever of being attacked.

"Oh? Retire?"

At those words, a gleam of fire flashed through Blazing Flame World Lord's enormous, bell-sized eyes, but he soon nodded slightly.

"That makes sense. A young genius like you ought to venture into our race's territory and join one of the very greatest powers. That way, your talent won't go to waste."

Li Che nodded.

Of course, he would not tell Army Lord Zhuoyan that, just recently, the cheat that had accompanied his transmigration had finally begun to show its power.
