Five days later, Xiao Yu appeared with Xin Ruoyin and the others above a mountain range on the northeastern border of the Yuanwu Kingdom.
"This will do. Head north from here, and you'll be outside the Yuanwu Kingdom," Xiao Yu told the people behind him lightly.
"Thank you for escorting us all this way, Senior!" Xin Ruoyin and Qi Yunxiao thanked him together.
"It was hardly any trouble!" Xiao Yu waved dismissively.
"Senior, you found a way to suppress the trouble caused by my constitution and let me continue cultivating. Your kindness is like giving me a second life. I have nothing with which to repay you, so please accept this!" Xin Ruoyin said gratefully. She took a jade case from her Storage Bag and offered it to Xiao Yu.
"What is this?" Xiao Yu looked at the jade case in her hands, puzzlement crossing his face.
"This case contains some of my insights into array formations, books on the art, and a Jade Slip introducing Ancient Formations. I hope you'll accept them, Senior," Xin Ruoyin said sincerely.
"Senior Xiao, these are Yunxiao's Insights, my own collected conclusions on artifact refining, along with the Artifact Refining Classics I've collected. Please accept them." Qi Yunxiao also offered Xiao Yu a jade case.
Their words gave Xiao Yu an inward jolt. He looked at the two jade cases in surprise, weighing the woman's intentions. Although Qi Yunxiao was giving him something too, this had surely been Xin Ruoyin's idea.
Xiao Yu had certainly helped them, but he doubted whether that kindness warranted their giving him things they valued as much as their lives.
He accepted both jade cases and calmly opened the one Xin Ruoyin had given him.
Inside were several books, with a pale blue Jade Slip resting neatly on top.
