"You actually saw a rat?" Jun Shutong looked surprised as well.
"People have always speculated that if the apocalypse really came, the two creatures still surviving on Earth would definitely be rats and cockroaches," Lu Li replied calmly.
"That's different." Jun Shutong shook her head and explained, "As far as I know, magical beasts don't just prey on humans. They won't spare other animals either, and that includes rats."
"Rats are better at hiding than humans, and they're a little tougher, too. They should be very hard to wipe out," Lu Li countered.
Jun Shutong sighed. "I actually wish rats would breed out of control. Then those magical beasts could fill their bellies."
"You might as well hope cockroaches breed out of control, then. Those magical beasts probably wouldn't spare them either," Lu Li teased in turn.
The two chatted as they headed toward the sixth floor.
