After all, Xia You had told them about the Lake Guardians before, so they also knew that only one of them could appear at Lake Valor: Azelf, known as the God of Will.
"Was it Azelf?" Dawn asked in surprise. "You saw it?"
Ash nodded hurriedly. "We did! It disappeared after we only got a glimpse of it, but it should've been Azelf!"
Ash and the others launched into an animated discussion about Azelf. Even Dawn brought up her earlier sighting of Mesprit at Lake Verity again. The more they talked, the more excited they became, and they even said they would return to that spot to look for Azelf once tomorrow's competition ended.
