The designers designed and sewed the outfits, and the fashion models displayed and presented them alongside Pokémon at fashion shows. The judges then evaluated and scored them to determine the eventual winners, who received prestige and prize money, and could even appear on magazine covers!
Simply put, just as with Pokémon Contests and Pokémon battles, there was tremendous success to be had.
The only difference was how they achieved it.
