"Not enough conditions?" May asked in confusion. "What conditions?"
Caitlin, standing nearby, thought for a moment before slowly saying, "Every year, Cresselia appears because Darkrai causes a disturbance and plunges the people of Canalave City into nightmares. Could people's nightmares, or Darkrai itself, be the condition for her appearance?"
"Exactly." Xia You nodded at Caitlin approvingly, then added, "That is indeed a necessary condition for Cresselia to appear. Without Darkrai causing that kind of disturbance, I don't think she would show herself."
May was puzzled. "Doesn't that bring us back to the same problem? If Darkrai doesn't appear, Cresselia naturally won't appear either!"
"That's true." Xia You snapped his fingers. "But you've clearly overlooked one crucial factor."
Hearing him speak so mysteriously, May practically pricked up her ears.
"What factor?"
Xia You explained without keeping them in suspense. "Why Cresselia can appear immediately after Darkrai shows up!"
Caitlin was very clever and caught on with barely a hint.
"You mean... she's actually been nearby all along, waiting until Darkrai appears before showing herself?"
Xia You nodded. "Even if she isn't always nearby, she must arrive ahead of time at this time every year. Otherwise, if she were too far away, she wouldn't be able to sense Darkrai, much less stop it immediately."
After hearing that, both May and Caitlin understood.
Precisely because it happened almost once a year and had continued for many years, both Darkrai and Cresselia knew they would face each other at this time. How could they possibly not prepare in advance?
The reason Cresselia had yet to appear was that she was waiting for the moment Darkrai showed up and caused a disturbance.
Of course, this was merely Xia You's speculation.
After all, they had never witnessed it themselves, so how could they know the actual
