When Cynthia agreed, Elesa's presence surged like a sword drawn from its sheath. She looked straight into Cynthia's eyes, her gaze brimming with eagerness for battle.
"Great. I really enjoyed lunch just now and built up plenty of energy. This is the perfect chance for a full six-on-six battle!"
Hearing the two settle on a battle in just a few words, Caitlin shook her head helplessly.
Even a one-on-one spar on their first meeting already carried a hint of provocation. Now a full-team battle seemed even more like a formal contest in which they would give it their all. She really had no idea what Elesa was thinking.
It felt as though it wasn't just Cynthia-even Elesa had become a little abnormal.
She opened her mouth to say something, feeling that events seemed to have veered off their normal course. But looking at Elesa's unquestionable gaze and the fire thoroughly kindled in Cynthia's eyes, she also knew that any attempt to dissuade them now would seemingly... be futile.
"Just what I had in mind." Cynthia's smile was full of confidence. "I've been wanting to stretch my muscles, too."
The two immediately hit it off and left the restaurant one after the other, without any intention of asking Caitlin's opinion.
Seeing this, Caitlin watched their retreating figures and sighed helplessly. She could only hurry after them.
She could only hope... that they really would just spar and wouldn't lose their tempers.
After leaving the restaurant, they arrived at a public outdoor battle field beside a nearby riverbank.
Perhaps because it was the afternoon rest period and the sun was strong, there were no other Pokémon Trainers around the field. It looked very empty, but that suited them perfectly.
After all, if they really attracted attention, or someone with an agenda posted
