Looking into Cynthia's eyes, Elesa smiled. "I lost to you in Striaton City before. As much as I hate to admit it, you really are the strongest female Pokémon Trainer I've ever met. But I'm still not quite willing to accept defeat, so I brought a friend to challenge you together today!"
I'm not! I didn't! Don't make things up!
Skyla protested furiously in her mind, but at a moment like this, she couldn't undermine her good friend, much less act hesitant again.
Cynthia's gaze swept over Elesa's and Skyla's faces, and a confident smile appeared on her lips.
"Another challenge? Of course, that's no problem. No matter how many times you challenge me, you're always welcome."
She deliberately stressed those words. Her meaning was obvious: no matter how many times you challenged her, she would defeat you!
How could someone as clever as Elesa fail to pick up on that?
It annoyed her, too, but her previous result spoke for itself. However annoyed she was, there was nothing she could do about it. She only hoped that this time, she and Skyla could restore her pride.
Meanwhile, when Caitlin heard that Elesa wanted another round, she helplessly pressed a hand to her forehead.
Would this ever end...
Still, this also showed that Elesa really was a proud person. In that respect, she was actually no different from Cynthia.
Neither liked losing to anyone.
"Very good." Elesa nodded. "Then let's find somewhere!"
Cynthia glanced at the sky. It was clearly already dusk, and it would be dark before long. The visibility wasn't particularly suitable for a battle, especially an all-out battle like this. There were also plenty of pedestrians around, making this an unsuitable place to fight, as was evident from the news their battle in Striaton City had caused.
