When Xia You and Sabrina returned to Shamouti Island, Professor Oak and Professor Ivy had also just reached the banquet hall.
They met face-to-face and exchanged friendly nods.
The festival was over now, and the islanders had returned to their normal lives. Everyone had dispersed, and with Ash and the others gone as well, the place felt even more deserted.
Once inside the hall, Professor Ivy took a laptop out of her backpack, opened a document, and showed it to Xia You.
"Come take a look. This is the information we gathered during our investigation yesterday and today. It's only a first draft, but the general direction won't change now. All that remains are a few details that need revising."
"Me?" Xia You raised his eyebrows in surprise. "But this is the result of your research. Isn't it a little inappropriate to let an outsider like me read it...?"
"It's fine," Professor Oak chimed in. "Actually, we took the liberty of including your butterfly effect theory, so strictly speaking, you deserve some credit for this paper too."
Xia You felt embarrassed.
The butterfly effect wasn't his theory at all. Mentioning it earlier was one thing, but having it included in a paper left him both ashamed and a little uneasy.
But this involved his identity as someone who had crossed into this world, as well as the background and worldview of the time and space he came from, so he couldn't explain it outright. He could only brace himself and lean toward the screen.
Under their gazes, Xia You lightly pressed the down arrow.
After only a few lines, he realized that this was a highly academic paper. There were even formulas and terms he couldn't understand at all! And the huge blocks of text left his head spinning!
