After leaving the beach, Xia You and Sabrina went straight back to the guesthouse where they were staying instead of wandering anywhere else.
Along the way, Sabrina was still quite puzzled about why Xia You had made that bet with the stallholder.
"You won the Indigo Conference, after all. You're a bona fide champion. Why make a bet with some obscure vendor? If word gets out, won't people look down on you?"
Seeing her slight frown, as though she felt this was inappropriate, Xia You smiled and shook his head, saying nonchalantly, "It was just a whim. I wanted to give him a surprise, that's all. When the match starts tomorrow and that stallholder discovers that the person he made a bet with is actually the challenger in this match, the look on his face will be priceless!"
Hearing that his reason was actually so childish, Sabrina found it amusing and couldn't help rolling her eyes at him.
"You really have nothing better to do."
Seeing that it still bothered her a little, Xia You put an arm around her and soothed her. "All right, that stallholder decided Drake would win the championship without even knowing anything about his opponent. That's why I played this little joke on him. Besides, it's just a trivial matter. Don't let it bother you!"
As they spoke, they crossed the street, walked into the guesthouse courtyard, and entered their room.
After taking off his shoes, Xia You lay straight down on the bed, staring at the ceiling as he considered his strategy for tomorrow, while Sabrina sat on the sofa and casually switched on the television.
The old fan overhead spun feebly, making an unsettling creaking sound, as though it might fall at any moment.
