He just had not expected that, after they had parted yesterday afternoon and an entire night had passed, she would have covered so little ground in all that time.

"My name is Xia You. I'm a Pokémon Trainer too." Then Xia You introduced his companion. "This is Sabrina. She's traveling with me."
Sabrina folded her arms and lifted her head somewhat haughtily, her long, straight black hair fluttering gently. She showed no intention of saying hello.
"Xia You?"
Nana frowned, feeling that the name sounded familiar. Studying Xia You more closely, she felt as though she had seen his face somewhere too!
"Ah! I remember!" she suddenly shrieked, pointing at Xia You and shouting, "You're the Indigo Conference champion! I watched the replay of your final!!!"
Nana's voice was so loud that Xia You had to cover one ear.
"There's no need to be that surprised..." He shook his head. "The conference produces a champion every year, and across all the regions, there are at least a dozen or so champions in total. This year, I just happened to get lucky."
