Eusine looked at Erika in puzzlement and asked curiously, "Miss Erika, what brought you to Johto? Is everything all right with your work at the Celadon Gym?"
"There wasn't much I could do about it." Faced with Eusine's confusion, Erika shook her head gently. "There was a fire at the Celadon Gym a while ago, and repairs and reconstruction are underway now, so I took advantage of the break to come here and catch some Grass-type Pokémon."
"So that's how it is."
Eusine nodded in understanding before turning his gaze to Xia You beside her.
He did not recognize Xia You, however, and simply took him for an ordinary male companion of Erika's.
That was hardly surprising. After all, he was not a full-time Pokémon Trainer, and he spent most of his time searching for traces of Suicune. He rarely watched Pokémon competitions, either. Although the television news had occasionally shown a battle or two during the Indigo Conference, and he had indeed heard Xia You's name, he could not connect it with the man before him at all.
