Dragonite took a few quick steps. Thanks to its superior speed, it reached the concrete pillar before Conkeldurr could retrieve it and kicked it out of bounds.
Rumble...
The concrete pillar rolled straight out of the battlefield, and according to the rules, once an object went out of bounds, it could not be returned to the field.
This was rather unsporting. It was like Marowak-everyone knew its bone club was its weapon, but now someone had thrown that club out of bounds. Although there was nothing wrong with it according to the rules, it still felt just a little like an unfair victory.
However, the concrete pillars were weapons Conkeldurr had brought with it in the first place, putting the bare-handed Dragonite at a disadvantage. When fighting such an opponent, taking away its weapons first was only reasonable.
Conkeldurr looked wary. Having learned its lesson, it feared Dragonite would throw its only remaining pillar out of the field as well, so it no longer dared to toss it as freely as before.
Without an effective means of attacking at range, interrupting Dragonite's moves would be much harder.
Sure enough, when Dragonite gathered its power again to prepare Dragon Rage, Conkeldurr glanced at the concrete pillar in its hands and hesitated briefly. Rather than throwing it, it charged toward Dragonite.
Dragon Rage quickly took shape and fired from between Dragonite's hands. In an instant, a shock wave formed from rage streaked through the air, reaching Conkeldurr in a flash and engulfing it!
Boom!
Conkeldurr was swallowed up by the blue-green light.
Under this attack, Conkeldurr held its only remaining concrete pillar across its chest, trying to use it to withstand the impact of Dragon Rage.
As Dragon Rage continued pouring forth, the concrete simply could not withstand the Pokémon move's assault.
