Without staying to watch the remaining matches, Xia You and the others rose in the darkness and followed the passage out of the Battle Arena.
After circling around to the contestants' side, they spotted two more people standing beside Ash and Xiao Chao from a distance: a middle-aged man with the same hair color as Xiao Chao, dressed in a suit as smart as formalwear, and a beautiful young woman.
As they approached, they heard the middle-aged man say to Xiao Chao in a slightly excited voice, "Xiao Chao, are you finally willing to take part in Pokémon battles?"
Glancing at Ash, Xiao Chao lowered his head. "No... I only ended up there because of some misunderstandings!"
With that, he clenched his fists and ran straight off!
By the time Xia You and the others reached Ash, the middle-aged man had sighed and turned to leave as well. Only the beautiful young woman remained. She gave Ash an apologetic smile. "Sorry you had to see that. If you don't mind, could you tell me what just happened?"
Ash paused at her words, glanced back at Xia You and the others, then nodded to the woman.
"Of course."

Xia You and the others sat around a round table with the woman and listened as she introduced herself.
"My name is Yuko, and I'm Dr. Lund's assistant. Oh, Dr. Lund is the man you just saw, and Xiao Chao is his son."
