This volume ran to over 500,000 Chinese characters, a little more than I expected. I originally thought I could wrap it up in forty or fifty chapters, but it ended up stretching to over a hundred and twenty.
Still, fortunately, everything that needed covering was covered. Not only did the protagonist challenge the Battle Frontier and earn a new regional achievement as planned, he also returned to familiar places to visit several of his women and made some new gains (new women). He caught a few Pokémon, too, brought together the Legendary Beasts, and even received Ho-Oh's blessing. The trip certainly wasn't wasted.
Most importantly, his kidney function got a huge boost!
No more worrying about getting tired!
In short, this volume continued to bridge what came before and what comes next, clearing away obstacles for the next region and filling in a few things. It turned out fairly well.
Now that we've looked back, let's talk about the next region.
The next region is Sinnoh, without a doubt.
Before Sinnoh begins, though, there will be a brief return to Kalos. I'll also fill in a little of what happened before the protagonist began his journey, and he'll meet Serena, with some attention given to their relationship.
This section won't be too long. I expect it to wrap up in two or three chapters.
After that comes the Sinnoh storyline, with the arrival of the hugely popular leading lady Cynthia, as well as Dawn, the Sinnoh Region's true female lead. As for romanceable female characters, the tentative choices are Bea and Caitlin, but the specifics will depend on where the writing takes us.
